Kirtan means “singing, chanting, and praising the Divine” and it is a sacred practice anyone can do—no special training is required. Sanskrit mantras (sound representations of the Divine) are devotionally chanted . Kirtan chanting is accompanied by ancient Indian musical tradition with a rhythmic drumming style that transports the singers/chanters to profound spiritual realms. The sound vibrations enter our consciousness, bringing deep inner peace. In its heartfelt expression it compares to profound states of deep meditation. Kirtan is accepted today as one of many ways to connect to the Divine.
We shared Kirtan chanting group weekly for ten years before the pandemic. We now meet occasionally and are happy to put you on our email list. For more information contact us.
