WHAT IS REIKI?
Reiki, developed by Dr. Mikao Usui, originating in Japan, uses hands-on healing to help each individual’s “life force energy” flow. Reiki’s meaning is simple and pure – “universal light”. In modern terms, this is a hands-on technique for stress reduction, relaxation and promotes healing. Reiki treats the whole body, mind, spirit and emotions. Its power works for each individual based on his/her particular needs.
The Reiki Practitioner is not the ‘healer’, but rather the vehicle through which the light energy flows in order to support healing. Reiki is safe and can have miraculous results. Reiki treatments in person are done with the receiving individual clothed comfortably. Non-local, Distance Reiki treatments are also performed and have effective results!
REIKI TREATMENTS:
Locally on Lopez Island and Distance(remotely), Reiki sessions are available. You may request a Reiki or a Distance Reiki session by emailing us at whispersofnatureherbs@pm.me or calling 360-298-8665 to set up an appointment. Distance Reiki appointment includes a telephone conversation at the time of the Distance Reiki session to make the time together more personal. Home visits may also be available on Lopez Island.
What is Distance Reiki?
This method of hands-on treatment allows for the practitioner and the client to be in two different locations at the time of the treatment. Distance treatments provide the same amount of energy transmission to occur, only in a non-localized way.
Prior to the Distance Reiki treatment the Reiki provider and the receiver of the Reiki coordinates a time for the session to occur. During the scheduled time the receiver is encouraged to use this time as if s(he) were going to another appointment (i.e. NIS, massage, acupuncture…). Creating a quiet, calm environment to lie down or sit comfortably (using dim lighting, a candle, soft music, etc…), for 30 minutes – one hour works well for the receiver of Reiki. However, this setting is not necessary for the receiver to receive the Distance Reiki energy.

On a recent visit home (to Washington) I asked Nick and Susie to give me a Reiki session. I’ve been dealing with constant lower back/ left hip pain for about 4-6 months. I knew that if nothing else I would feel relaxed and refreshed afterwards.
What I wasn’t expecting was to be pain free, now it wassn’t instant. I felt the release about half way through my session. Susie placed her hand on the middle of my chest and I felt myself taking deeper and deeper breathes… then this release happened; the pain, the weight of the pain was gone… I felt lighter more centered like a blanket had been lifted and my spirit was free again.
its about three weeks now and I am still pain free and feel more centered in my life than I’ve been in along long time.. I can’t wait to visit them again and have another session.
