Happy Earth Day Time of Year!
Happy Earth Day! This past weekend was filled with lots of earth day activities on Lopez Island, and around the world, cleaning up, planting, advocating for what we need to do for the earth’s health and ultimately our own.
The young Swedish environmental activist and role model, Greta Thunberg, leads a global climate change movement, inspiring thousands, maybe millions, of people across the earth. What an amazing, young 16-year old role model! She is in her power, conveying to the world that up to 200 species are going extinct everyday, from toxic pollution, acidification of our oceans, loss of insects, microbes in the soil. The earth is taking action, along with the next generation of youth in the streets.
What actions are we taking with each day for the benefit of our next generations, our children, our grandchildren, those yet to be born? What message do you want others to know that will be helpful for our planet, the animals, us humans? Now is the time to determine those higher actions and to fulfill them each day! Each of us is exceptional and ultimately, when we are following our heart’s desires, we are taking the action that we need to most. We don’t all need to be Greta, but rather, to follow our deepest passions, for the benefit of all!
I know that I am speaking to the choir with what I’m addressing, but good reminders are helpful when we get caught up in the daily routines of life! I am so grateful to each of you already for doing your parts in our world, our communities, our families! Acknowledge your unique roles and know that they are important for us all!
We need to do our best and then some, to push ourselves, to take risks, and to show the world what we can do without worrying about judgment from others, as long as the actions you take are for the higher good! Some of us are builders, engineers, activists, others are artists, writers, healers, others are teachers, providers of family, caretakers, and others are community elders, volunteers, world leaders, and politicians. Still others are farmers, mechanics, retailers, gardeners, students, restaurateurs and baristas. The list goes on and on of all of the many important and unique roles that we all play in life, within our community ecosystems, within our body, mind, spirit. We all have our own specific roles to serve and we’re all equally important!
Let’s do this together! Be who you are meant to be!!
Love and Blessings to Each of You!
Susie…thanks SO MUCH!
